The Heated Words project, founded by Rory McCartney and Charlie Morgan, is a documentation of a little-known font with a rich cultural history. This mysterious typeface with no name and no known designer was sold as iron-on flocked lettering. It was created as an easy and affordable way to personalize sportswear in the 70’s and quickly adopted by New York street gangs, b-boys, and bands.
