After Fujio Kito quit his job as an office worker, he became a freelance photographer. One of his personal projects has been to document the many fascinating cement playgrounds around Japan. Using dramatic lighting at night, he transforms these friendly play structures that take on the shape of robots, abstract forms, and household appliances into something mysterious and ominous.
